Congregational Survey

Welcome Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

As we prayerfully prepare for the calling of our next pastor, we invite you to take time to thoughtfully reflect before answering the following questions. These are not questions that require quick responses. Rather, they are an opportunity to listen for God's guidance, consider the future of our congregation, and share the hopes and dreams He has placed on your heart for Mount Olive.

Before continuing, we encourage you to pause for a moment of prayer. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide your thoughts, your words, and your vision for our shared ministry. Consider where God has brought Mount Olive, where He may be leading us in the years ahead, and how each of us is called to participate in that journey.

Please answer each question carefully and honestly. Your responses will help the Call Committee, Church Council, and ultimately our future pastor better understand the strengths, hopes, and aspirations of our congregation. There are no right or wrong answers, only the sincere reflections of God's people seeking His will together.

Thank you for taking the time to prayerfully discern your responses. Your voice is an important part of the future God is shaping for Mount Olive Lutheran Church.

1. Please list or describe the three primary areas of activity or focus that you wish our newly called Pastor to give attention to during the first year of his or her ministry at Mount Olive.

2. Please list or describe the three ways that you will support and encourage the new Pastor during the first year in order to help him or her accomplish these responsibilities.

3. Where do you envision Mount Olive in 5–7 years?

4. What do you hope will be different/expanded/changed about Mount Olive in the next few years?

5. Is there anything else you would like us to know as we plan for our shared future?

Please do not begin the survey until you have read the welcome letter and had considerable time to prayerfully consider the last 5 questions of the form
